INDIANAPOLIS, Updated 5:14 a.m. EST January 17, 2001-- You know the story.
Last year, a federal judge ordered the Indianapolis Baptist Temple to pay its multi-million dollar tax debt or surrender its property.
The deadline was high noon on Nov. 14. Church members and protesters showed up for the expected showdown. So did the media.
But the U.S. marshals stayed home. Now, two months later, the waiting game continues as church supporters hold a round-the-clock vigil. It's clear that church members won't leave until they're forced to leave.
RTV6 says that enough is enough!
End this standoff. Seize this property. Uphold the laws that the rest of us are expected to follow.
U.S. Marshal Frank Anderson, what's the holdup?
You have a job to do. Do it!
